NC Check Ins will be administered this week (April 9-11). Please do your best to be on time for school. Bring your fully-charged device, charger, and a book to read.  Students will attend all classes on an abbreviated schedule on testing days.

3.  Read in the America Text Ch. 18.1 pp.608-613 "A New Industrial Revolution" (classwork and homework)

4.  Study for your quiz on Friday!

ELA:

Period 1, 3, 4, 5:

Unit test retakes are tomorrow (Theme/Central idea, evidence, characterization, and vocabulary) and Wednesday (Tone, Irony, Summary, and Director's Choices)

If Planning to Retake the Unit Test, these are the requirements:

---Error Remediation (in Google Classroom)

---Complete any assignments marked "missing" (or "absent") in Jupiter from Quarters 3 or 4. I handed out paper copies of your list of missing assignments today in class. If you did not get a slip, you do not have any assignments marked as missing.

---You must have turned in the study guide on time. If you did not, you are not eligible.

Period 2:

Unit test retake will be on Friday.

If Planning to Retake the Unit Test, these are the requirements:

1) Study guide turned in ON TIME

2) Complete any assignments marked "missing" (or "absent") in Jupiter from Quarter 4

3) Error Remediation (in Google Classroom) -- we will work on this together in class on Tuesday

4) Revised constructed responses (from the test) -- we will work on this in class on Wednesday

Science

1 - Finish the Relative Age Practice, Part B if you did not finish in class today. 

2 - Complete pages 6-7 in your Earth History LearnEd (it's yellow).  Use Slides 2-10 for page 6.  For page 7, use these fossils:  carbon film (imprint), mold & cast, petrified, preserved remains, trace, and coprolite. See details in Google Classroom.

Today, we painted our bird silhouettes.  Painting will continue tomorrow.  If you're finished, we'll work on the Rachel Carson interactive notebook activity.

Please make sure you've returned the signed parent permission/denial slip for the upcoming presentation from the Health Department. 

ELA:

Period 2:

Your unit test is tomorrow -- make sure to study! Use your study guide (in Google Classroom) and use some of the resources from the Study Resources document posted in Jupiter Materials.

Period 1, 3, 4, 5:

No homework for ELA tonight, except to continue preparing for your retest if you plan to take it.

This week Math 8 students are learning about VOLUME and how to calculate the volume of cones, cylinders, and spheres. Most students completed their homework last night. Math 8 students should complete the two Delta Math Volume homework assignments. 

Math 1 students started reviewing explicit vs recursive and arithmetic vs geometric sequences. They are assigned problems 1-15 of their second Delta Math Sequences assignment.

Students received a permission form for the upcoming Sexual Health / STD presentation for 8th graders.  Please have a parent sign this permission form.  Students, you need to return your signed form to your homeroom teacher.  

Social Studies:

1.  Complete warm up #7  

2.  Groupwork Arpillera Reading: 3 Opinions, 3 Details, 3 Questions (classwork)

3.  Brainstorming Ideas for Arpilleras-Complete Graphic Organizer (classwork)

4.  Watch the first 15-20 minutes of America the Story of Us Episode 7 (linked in GC) (classwork and homework)

Science

- Finish any incomplete work, if this applies to you. Many of you have been absent or have not completed all assignments. 

- Finish the IXL skill posted in MTSS if you did not complete it during MTSS today.

- Use the Quizlet vocabulary lists (posted in MTSS) to review vocabulary that will be covered on next week's NC Check In. 

Core Connections:

1.  Please make sure that you have reviewed the rubric for the Bird Silhouette.

2.  Your graph paper measurements and sketches of your bird in flight should include:

-wingspan

-bill/beak length

-head diameter

-body length

-tail length

-count of flight feathers and tail feathers

These measurements will help you get the proportions correct for your painting.

3.  Painting continues on Thursday.

4.  Make sure you've reviewed the Tech Tuesday games and submitted the Google Form from yesterday.

 Math 1 and Math 8 students are to finish their homework assigned in Delta Math.

2.  Make sure that you have completed the study set on Industrialization from March 22nd 

3.  Kick off Part 5 of the SS Project: Arpilleras.  Complete the group and individual assignments (classwork)

4.  Study your new unit vocab "Industrialization" (homework)

5.  Make sure that you have a document created which answers the following question:

What social change do you wish to see? 

Explain the problem and the potential solution.
