 Science

1 - Finish the Physical & Chemical Changes Lab if you did not finish during class today. 

2 - Work on your periodic table project. Projects are due on Thursday, Sept. 24 by the end of the school day.

3 - Quiz on Thursday, September 24. Quiz will cover these topics:

- properties of metals, nonmetals, metalloids

- groups & families on the periodic table

- physical & chemical changes and properties

- acids, bases, and indicators

4 - The Physical/Chemical Changes review (in GC) is not homework if you did not finish or did not get to it today in class. 

ELA:

Upcoming dates to prepare for:

1. Unit test on Wednesday -- prepare by:
1. Checking any study guide questions we didn't get to in class, using the key (posted in Google Classroom by end of day today)
2. Studying the study guide
3. Focusing on any skills that you struggled with on the study guide (check the "Extra Help" link in your Google Classroom quick links for resources)
2. Flash narrative final draft due Wednesday at the start of class. Prepare by unsubmitting your rough draft and making edits. Use your revision pages from yesterday.

Thursday, September 17

 Science

Continue working on your periodic table project!  Use the rubric posted in Google Classroom as you work. Projects will most likely be due at the end of the day on Thursday, Sept. 24. You may take your project home over the weekend (Sept. 25 -27) if you need more time, without late penalty. Remember to ask for help or clarification at any step of this project. 

Quiz next week - likely on Thursday, September 24. Study your notes -on the periodic table groups, physical & chemical properties, and physical & chemical changes. 

Social Studies

1.  Slide 7-Regulator Movement ppt- What would you do?  Make sure you have an answer for tomorrow's class.

2.  Study your notes from the A.G.R.S. graphic organizer!

ELA:

1) Finish any revision passes that were not finished from class today (on the handout "Revision Passes" look for any checkboxes that aren't checked off yet. That's what you need to finish).

2) Finish the Partner Audit sheet -- all the way to the end!

3) Study guides are due TOMORROW at the START of class. If they are not here, to be checked, on time, you will not be able to retake the unit test if you want to.

• You will not be able to answer these questions on the study guide until Friday in class. Leaving these blank will not affect your ability to retake: 
• Section 1 questions 2 and 3
• Section 3, Passage A, Question 4
• Section 3, Passage B, Question 4

Dates looking ahead:

1.  Study your notes on the graphic organizer that you have been working on this week (A.G.R.S.).  You should also study the notes from the NC text from this week and Colonization vocab!

ELA:

Period 3: Finish annotating the poem if not done in class (Lesson 11 handout). Then, answer questions 1 and 2 on the back of the Lesson 11 handout.

Period 4: Do the explanations in section "Theme lines vs pretty lines" on your Lesson 11 handout (in Unit 1 Packet #2)

All classes:

You will not be able to answer these questions on the study guide until Friday in class. Leaving these blank will not affect your ability to retake: 

• Section 1 questions 2 and 3

2.  Complete side 1 of the A.G.R.S. graphic organizer if you did not finish in class.  Review the notes on side 1 when you are finished adding the information.

Science

Finish reading & annotating the text from today, "When Chemistry Changes Temperature." Complete the questions if you did not finish in class today. 

Bring a hair tie tomorrow and each day this week. Long hair will need to be tied back all week. 

Continue working on your periodic table. Bring your posterboard to school if you have not already done this. 

Math I: Finish Average Rate of Change practice (check Google Classroom). Quiz on Features of Functions and Average Rate of Change on Wednesday!

Math 8: Finish Multi-Step Inequalities practice (check Google Classroom).

ELA

Finish the lesson 10 handout.

Finish the Mystery Picture assignment if you did not finish in class today.

Continue working on your periodic table project. You should be selecting elements and arranging them according to the patterns on the real periodic table.

ELA:

1) Quiz tomorrow!

• the EXACT questions (without answer choices) that you will see on the quiz will be posted in Google Classroom TODAY so you can read through them. 
• Review your classwork from last Friday ("Check_1_Package" in Google Classroom). You can see the questions and your answers now.
• Study your handout from this week and last (All of Unit 1 Packet 1)
• The quiz will cover: theme, warm-up vocab from the current warm-up set, and evaluating evidence
• You will have a copy of all texts ("The Necklace" and "The Ransom of Red Chief")
• Unless you have an accommodation for extended time OR have a reason and have spoken with me ahead of time: you will have ONLY one class period to finish.
• Today's MTSS assignment is a good study resource, too.

2) Flash narrative rough draft

• Period 1 - due tomorrow (speak with me if you will need more time)
