Social Studies:

1.  Study your Slavery Unit vocabulary.

2.  Remember that you will attend the winter assembly tomorrow morning from 8:30-9:00ish.  You will then go to first period at 9:30.

Science: 
Finish your Aquagrams - you should have 2 different profiles created for 2 different ocean organisms.  Follow the directions and tips for best practices - your slides should reflect the tips and guidelines shown in class today. Remember to use 8th-grade level facts for your organisms!

Math:

1 - Answer the Attendance Question in GC today.
2 - Work on your Aquagram profiles.  Two profiles for two different ocean organisms (from different ocean zones) are due on Thursday.  You will also have class time on Thursday to work on these.
3 - Check PowerSchool and Google Classroom.  Finish any missing work.  

Core Connections:

2. Make sure you've submitted the Where does the Water Go slide from Tuesday.
3. Finish the Chasing Rivers video and questions.

All Classes - Please complete the quiz posted in google classroom (it's a form). There is a not an attendance question for math today. If you complete the quiz, you will be marked present. If you do not complete the quiz before 11:59pm tonight, you will be marked absent for Wed 12/16/20.

1. Make sure that you have submitted your Quarter 2 warm-ups. The document was due on Monday for a project grade.

2. Continue to read through the information linked to GC about Enslaved Entrepreneur Elizabeth Keckly. Work on your reflection today and make sure that you identify the 5 Key Features in her story, in your reflection. (See you tomorrow!)

 Science: 
Work on your first Aquagram.  Select your organism, begin your research, and create the profile page.  Follow directions given in class and on the template slide.  Use the websites provided in the assignment to help you research.  Two Aquagram profiles for  organisms in different ocean zones are due Thursday. These will be your last assignments for 2nd quarter - finish strong!

Math:

-make sure card sort activity from Mon is correct; cut and glue to p44 (glue functions in a section together and non-functions in a section together)

2.  Read the linked information about the life of enslaved entrepreneur Elizabeth Keckly in GC.  Write a 1-3 paragraph summary about her legacy.  IDENTIFY any of the 5 Key Factors of enslaved entrepreneurship found within her story. Be prepared to share on Thursday.  There is  nothing to submit.

BIG BIG EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY: In preparation for our argumentative writing unit next quarter, students can attend "Identifying Bias and Misinformation in Resources," Day 1, Session 5 (Tuesday, December 15 @ 3:00pm), of the free Cultural Arts LIVE conference and write a brief reflection. I'll send the link to the talk when I get it.

  1. This is a project work day. Please make sure your PRODUCT is ready for Peer Review tomorrow.  We're sharing them and providing feedback for the last component of our project.  
  2. You will still have until Next Thursday, December 10th to make revisions to the Product Planning Forms, Product Marketing Plan, and Project Summary.
  3. Your slide is due today. We're going to try a dry run for Voya-Con tomorrow.  :)

1.  Make sure that you define the new unit words: SLAVERY.  Words can be found in the glossary of the NC text and America text or dictionary.com

2.  Review the notes that I posted about yesterday's reading on Cherokee Removal.  Compare my notes to your own.  Fill in any missing information.

3.  Test tomorrow.  Make sure that you gather the documents needed to maximize your score.  Do not forget about the Bill of Rights.
