Science:  1st, 2nd & 3rd Period - Draw a diagram for each water property on your Properties of Water notes.  Diagrams need to be legible, labeled, and colored for full credit.  Write a summary  (5-8 sentences) of water's unique properties in the space below the chart.  (4th & 5th period - Your class did not meet today - this will be your assignment on Tuesday.)
 Humanities Questions due 11/2/12

Q1:  
T1 – What is the purpose of the U.S. Constitution?
T2 – What are the consequences of being governed by a document that is over 200 years old?  Are founding documents “out of date” or “classic”?
T3 – Identify something in the Constitution that has been debated recently in our society.  What do you make of this debate?

Q2: 
T1 – Do you think everyone who is eligible to vote should vote?  Why or why not?
T2 – Average voter turn-out (people who show up to the polls and cast their ballots) for a presidential election tends to be between 50 and 60%.  What do you think our nation’s Founding Fathers would think of that statistic?  What do you think of it?
T3 – Is 18 the appropriate minimal age for voting?  Why or why not?

Read NC Ch. 6 sections 1 and 2.  Take notes on each section.  Make sure that your Ch. 6 vocabulary words are defined.  Section notes will be checked on Wednesday for a homework grade. 

Make sure that you are doing your independent reading on a regular basis. Independent reading checks will begin next Monday and will be consistent over the next couple of weeks!  All students will receive a new syllabus for quarter 2 on Wednesday.
