 ELA

Period 1:

1) Answer the attendance question by 9am.

2) Read “Flowers for Algernon” to the end of the “Mar 25” entry on page 60.
  • Answer the questions in the reading journal as you go.
  • Pay especially close attention to any changes in Charlie after his surgery.
  • You will have a short reading quiz on what we have read so far when we return to synchronous classes. It will focus on the reading from when you are asynchronous (today and any other asynchronous days after today, if the weather is bad enough that there are additional asynchronous days). It will be open-note, open-reading journal, and open-book. However, it will be timed, so I recommend annotating as you read so that you can return to important spots in the text later.

3) All reading journal questions, up to the point we have read, should be in your reading journal at this point. If you have not transferred over your answers from our first few days of reading, do it today.
  • Remember: reading journals will be graded periodically with little to no warning. If it is not up-to-date, you will lose points. I typically do not allow redos on reading journals, except in very particular situations.
