No in-person learning in the building today. Classes will be held by zoom calls. The order of your classes is your NEW order of classes at the Zoom times of the OLD remote schedule.

mtss is independent and you do not need to Zoom in

1.  I'm sorry B-Day kids that our weather isn't cooperating with your first day back.  But I'm glad we'll all be safe at home today.  Remember: New class periods, old virtual learning schedule.  Zooms are tucked into your Google Classroom pages or the links from Ms. Higdon's email.  

2.  On the Way to School Graphic Organizer:  For people who missed the watch party and weren't able to open the documentary, please turn in what you've completed so far.

3.  I'm altering today's assignment a bit due to the change in plans for the day.  I'll post it shortly.

4. Congratulations to all. It's 4th quarter, which means you are now RISING 9th Graders.  Tomorrow, we will begin the process of high school registration.  Please be on-time and ready to ask questions!  

Math:

Social Studies:
1.  Make sure that you complete warm up #4.
2.  Make sure that you have completed the lesson titled "Part 4 Constitution Project:  Foundational Beginnings" (Found in your new GC account)
3.  Be prepared to share your idea for social change in class tomorrow!

Science:
1 - Warm Up and BellRingers will be completed in class today.
2 - Summary Paragraph with Microbes Vocabulary (will be explained in class today).

Math: Join your 4th quarter google classroom

1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th: Complete INB p70 Solve by Substitution
You will need your own graph paper next week.

2nd period: Complete graphing quadratics (slides)

Social Studies:

1.  Create a new google doc for Quarter 4 warm ups.
2.  Go to the new warm ups for Quarter 4 document in GC and complete entries 1 and 2!
3.  Go to your GC folder and find the New Unit Vocab document for the Reconstruction unit.
4.  Define the words on the list (there are 11 words posted)
5.  Read America Ch 16 section 1 "Rebuilding the Nation".  Take bullet pt notes on the reading!\
6.  Make sure that you review the new Quarter 4 Syllabus which has been uploaded to your GC account!
*I know many of you had difficulty attending zoom today due to issues with the links.  This has now been fixed.  You should be able to join on your next scheduled time.  Links are posted in GC for each Hybrid class and the Remote class!

ELA:
Work on your ode drafts. Use the coaching I've given in class.
  • Show; don't tell. Or as they'd say on Tiktok, tell me... without telling me... For example, don't name any emotions. Describe what that emotion feels like and looks like instead.
  • General is boring; specific is interesting. Car--phfthtpt; Mercedes AMG--oooooooooh. Words like nice, beautiful, wonderful, good, bad <thumbs down emoji>.
  • This ode is written in 3rd person. Take out I/me/my/mine and you/your/yours.
Science:
Finish the Section 11.3 Review questions in GC. Be sure you have joined your science GC for 4th quarter.

In person learning starts Tuesday, March 16th. If you are attending in person, enter the the building through the doors at the back of the gym, walk through the gym, and go directly to your homeroom class.

Mrs. Higdon emailed a doc to you Friday, March 12th about 9:30am. The doc includes the bell schedule, google classroom codes, and zoom links.

If you are remote, join your classes via zoom as outlined on the schedule provided.

If you are returning in person, attend in person on your assigned cohort days and join your classes via zoom on the other 2 days.

Wednesdays are still asynchronous. Classes to attend are Mon, Tues, Thurs, & Fri.

Mrs. Higdon emailed a doc with your schedule that includes google classroom codes and Zoom links. If you are remote, you will Zoom into your classes Mon, Tues, Thurs, & Fri. If you are hybrid, you will attend in person two days and Zoom into your classes the other two days (Wednesdays are still asynchronous). Times are listed on the doc.

SUPPLY PICKUP: Another envelope of supplies is ready for you to pick up from the back of the gym. If you are remote for the remainder of the year, you must pick up the supply packet. If you are returning to the building, you can either pickup your envelope OR get it next week when you are in the building.

Math: Turn in all 3rd quarter work by the end of today, Friday, March 12th

2nd: Copy notes p100 Discriminant
Complete IXL BB12 Using the Discriminant (85 smartscore or 20 minutes but you should be able to get to 100 smartscore)

Social Studies:

1. Remember to complete all make up work by 3:00 today.

2. Write a letter to yourself. In the letter, give yourself praise for what you did well during the last 10 weeks. In addition, give yourself constructive criticism regarding areas which need your attention. We will talk about your letters next week. There is nothing to submit.

3. Remember: social studies learning is asynchronous today!

Science:
Finish any missing assignments from 3rd quarter, if this applies to you.

Core Connections:
1. Please make sure that any late work is submitted by Saturday.
2. We're continuing with the film "On the Way to School", which has a graphic organizer for you to fill out as we watch it. The document/graphic organizer is not due until Tuesday, so you should have adequate time to complete it without cutting into your weekend or Monday's teacher work day.

ELA:
Work on your ode draft. (Use the rubric!) Due March 26--we'll be revising together in class.

Ultimate Frisbee announcement: If you're looking to get out this weekend (Saturday the 13th) there's a group of Voyager students playing ultimate frisbee from 3-5 at Whippoorwill Park. Boys and girls who also play on the Voyager tennis, cross country, soccer and volleyball teams are joining in but you don't have to be on a sports team. The group has an instructor, but if you want to come out and play contact Mrs. Baker (Will's mom) by email at lisabaker3@gmail.com for details on the game and COVID precautions. (This is not a Voyager organized event. This is a group of students who enjoy ultimate frisbee who happen to attend Voyager.)

Science: 
- 1st period - Answer the attendance question in GC by 2:00 today.
- Complete pages 8-9 of your Health & Disease LearnEd notebook.  Use the websites linked in GC with this assignment.  Submit pictures of both pages. 
- Check PowerSchool for any missing assignments.  This is the last week of 3rd quarter - finish strong!

Core Connections:
There is a Google Form for you to fill out.  It will guide you through the steps to check for missing work and to sign up for office hours.  

Remember, this is the LAST week of 3rd Quarter.  Late work cannot be accepted after Saturday, 3/13.  You're getting a new Google Classroom for Core Connections for next week.

Social Studies:

1.  Review the Lincoln obituaries completed during class yesterday.  This document can be found in GC.

2.  Remember that warm ups were due on Monday, March 8.  Friday at 3:00 is the deadline for all missing work that can still be submitted for credit.

PLEASE READ:  Warm ups for quarter 3 have been graded.  Many students have not turned in the assignment which has resulted in a zero for a project grade.  If you are one of these students, please let me know directly when you submit.  I will not be checking for the assignment again unless prompted by your email.  Thank you for your consideration.

Math: 
1st, 3rd, 4th, & 5th: Complete the Systems Form (This is your attendance for today so please complete it before the end of the day)

2nd: Copy Quadratic Formula notes to p99 in notebook (watching the video will be super helpful; you even get the pleasure of your notes as a song)
