These will be your last assignments for 2nd quarter - finish strong!

- Practice the Brain Dump strategy we used in class today. You  may use 1 blank piece of paper and a pencil for this quiz if you want to use this strategy.  You  may not pre-write your Brain Dump paper and use this during the quiz.  Your Brain Dump paper must be created during the quiz time.

2.  Part 2 (Research following the guidelines) will be collected on Tuesday, December 1.

3.  Flocabulary (Indian Removal) is due by 11:59 tonight. You have had 3 days to complete it so make sure that it is on time.

4.  Test 2/Quarter 2 will be given on Thursday, December 3.  A study guide will be provided early next week.

*Please note that we are about 1 1/2 weeks behind on the syllabus.  This is why I am providing dates for upcoming tests and projects. Projects always take longer than expected.  Happy Living this weekend!

1 - Finish pages 19-20 in your Hydrosphere LearnEd notebook if you did not finish during class today. 
2 - Work on your Water Quality Lab Report.  Today's goals: write the last 2 paragraphs of your Conclusions section.  If you have not met the daily goals on the Lab Report Timeline, you need to complete any missing sections of your lab report.  See GC for the Instructions, Rubric, and slideshow with examples/tips shown in class.  
3 - Lab Report Help Session at 1:00 on Wednesday, Nov. 18 for anyone who would like assistance with the Lab Report. Zoom Link will be posted in GC on Wednesday morning.

1 - Finish the LearnEd notebook assignment if you did not finish in class today.  See directions in GC. Submit a picture of your completed work for full credit.
2 - Work on your Water Quality Lab Report.  If you are following the suggested timeline given to you in Science class, you should finish at least 1-2 paragraphs of your Conclusions section today. Check the slideshows posted in GC for the timeline, tips, suggestions, and examples we discussed in class. 

Social Studies:

1.   Read America Ch.9 Section 4 "The War of 1812".  Take bullet pt. notes on the main ideas and supporting details of the text (NO PARAGRAPHS!)  

*PLEASE READ:  We are currently about a week and a half behind on the syllabus.  We do not have a Test this week.  Test 2 will be given after the Thanksgiving holiday.

ELA:
The window is closed for comprehension test retakes. 
Tomorrow we will have a Paideia seminar using your Venn diagrams. A Paideia Seminar is a collaborative intellectual dialogue facilitated with open-ended questions about a text, i.e., a deep conversation about the similarities and differences between the book and the movie.

 Science:
1- Water Quality Lab Data chart is due today.  Each factor should have a summarized procedure, the measurement, and the rank (1-4 AND a word: poor, fair, good, or excellent).  If you are up to date with procedures and results, you will submit this at the end of class today.  If you need to update your data, watch the Pondwater Testing videos posted in GC to complete any missing rows / data you need. 
2 - Water Quality Chart is due tomorrow by 11:59. Finish the last two rows (Sediment & Turbidity) and any missing rows you have not completed yet.  Remember, you need at least 4 facts from the reading (stated in your own words) and several Key Words (just the word, no definitions needed). 
3 - BONUS: Change your virtual background or profile pic in Zoom to a freshwater scene - EXTRA bonus points if it is a local body of freshwater.  Not required, but strongly encouraged! :) I can't wait to see the places you select! Do this for Thursday's class. 

Social Studies:

1. Read America Book Ch. 9 Section 2 "The Louisiana Purchase"  and take notes.  Use bullet pts, not paragraphs and list the main ideas of the section with supporting details.  You will only read p. 314-316.  Stop when you see the heading "Lewis and Clark Explore the West".

2.  Watch the 8 minute video in GC on the Lewis and Clark Expedition.  Create 3 EMOJIS which represent main ideas from the film.

3.  Constitution Project Part 1:  Research  is due on Friday, November 13.  Another work day will be provided on Thursday.  Make sure that all 5 questions are discussed in the notes on the shared document.

1. Please check your Google Classroom for comments on your project planning documents.  

2. Make sure you've turned in your SEL journal from Friday.

3. Marketing plan is due Tuesday.

4. Summary with 5 steps of the hero's journey is due Thursday.


Science: 
1 - Watch the Pondwater Testing videos for Nitrates and Ammonia and record these on your Water Quality Lab Data chart.  You should now have everything recorded except for Bioindicators.  If you're missing any data, find the Pondwater Testing videos in GC for the ones you are missing and record these.  You will need all of your data tomorrow in class! 
2 - Check your Water Quality Chart. If you don't have the first 4 rows completed (Temperature through DO), complete these.  The last two rows (Turbidity & Sediment) and the completed chart are due by Wednesday at 11:59.  Work on anything you need to do to make this happen. 
3 - If you did any of the optional extension assignments, please complete the form in GC to submit your work.  If you didn't do these, you don't need to complete the form.  Tuesday, Nov. 10 is the last day to submit these assignments for credit. 

ELA:
1. ATTWN Ch.9-end comprehension test tomorrow. If you've done the chapter assignments and listened in class, you'll do great. If not, you probably want to do the assignments and consult with a friend to make sure you did them right.
2. Study Ch. 10 vocabulary for a grade booster.

Social Studies:

1.  Continue to research your Amendment and add to your shared document.  Make sure that you have answered questions 1-5 in your notes. These questions are posted in GC (we went over them in class).

1 - LAB DATA:  Record the results for pH and Dissolved Oxygen on your Water Quality Lab Data doc if you did not do this during class today.  The videos for these experiments are found in the "Pondwater Testing: pH and Dissolved Oxygen" material posted in GC.  So far, you should have 4 measurements recorded for this week: temperature, turbidity, pH, and DO. If you didn't record data yesterday, be sure to do this (temp. & turbidity). 

2 - CLASSWORK (Catch Up for those who have 0s in PSchool this week): Be sure you have completed these sections of your Water Quality Chart: Temperature, Hardness, pH, and Dissolved Oxygen.  Follow directions on the assignment in GC. If you have already completed these sections, great work! Enjoy your weekend!

Social Studies:

1.  Create a google doc and share it with your partner in order to begin taking notes on the Amendment that you selected in class today for the Dreams of Democracy project.  

2.  Take notes related to the questions posted in the project outline in GC.  You are just researching at this stage and collecting information on your topic!

3.  Review the notes from yesterday's reading in GC  "Jefferson takes Office"

Science: 
1 - Watch the Temperature and Turbidity videos for the pondwater testing.  These are posted in GC as "Pondwater Testing: Temperature and Turbidity." Complete the Water Quality Lab Data document for temperature and turbidity
2 - Read the pH and Dissolved Oxygen information in the Water Quality Chart.  You need at least 4 facts (summarized in your own words!) and you need to list the Key Vocabulary for each factor. 
3 - FINISH yesterday's assignment if you did not complete the rows for Temperature and Hardness in your Water Quality Chart. Watch the video posted yesterday for more details about this assignment. Email me if you need help with anything.
