Signed permission forms for next week's field trip are due tomorrow to your homeroom teacher. Please bring this back if you have not already done this. If you've lost your form, your parent can write and sign a note stating that you have their permission to leave campus with the 8th grade on May 1, 2024. 

ELA:

Periods 1, 4, 5: Sherlock Holmes Wrap-Up assignments due by end of day tomorrow.

Period 3: Finish working on your essay introductory paragraphs and body paragraphs to stay on track. Rough drafts (not including citations) will be due Monday.

Science:

1 - Finish the Flocabulary: Evolution assignments if you have not already finished. The quiz portion counts as a classwork grade as long as all other parts of the assignment are completed.

2 - Read and annotate the Dichotomous Keys handout.  Answer questions 1-5 on the back.

3 - Complete pages 18-19 in your Diversity of Life LearnEd booklet.  See instructions in Google Classroom. 

Social Studies:

1.  Complete warm up #18 (classwork)

2.  Watch ATSOU #* "Boom".  Answer the questions on the handout (classwork)

Bring back your signed permission form for next week's field trip. Forms should be given to your homeroom teacher.

Core Connections:

Students have been working hard on their projects.  Each student should have submitted their digital poster, clay sculpture, and bird silhouette.  Our celebration is Thursday from 4:00 until 5:15.  Although students are not mandated to attend, please participate in the Gallery Walk-Through if you can.

Social Studies:

1.  Complete warm up #17 (classwork)

2.  Turn in your Arpillera (classwork)

3.  Complete the Propaganda Classwork Activity on WWI Posters.  Make sure that you turn in your packet before leaving school today (classwork)

4.  Review the notes on the NC 11.5 Reading (homework)

ELA:

Period 3: Essay rough draft due Monday. You will work on writing body paragraphs and the introductory paragraph tomorrow. You may choose to work on this some at home to keep on track.

Period 1: Read and annotate pages 1-4 of "Adventure of the Dancing Men" in Google Classroom

Period 3: Wrap-up assignment (in Google Classroom) due WEDNESDAY. Pace yourself accordingly.

Period 4: Read and annotate through page 6 of "Adventure of the Dancing Men" (in Google Classroom)

Period 5: Read and annotate through page 8 of "Adventure of the Dancing Men" (in Google Classroom). Reread your annotations from yesterday to make sure you are including sufficient comments (not just highlighting), and no more than 50% of your comments are defining vocabulary.


Core Connections:

Our project celebration is Thursday, April 25th from 4:00 until 5:15 p.m. Please make sure you've completed  the following:

1. Digtial Poster (submitted)

2. Bird Silhouette (submitted)

3. Bird Sculpture: If you brought your clay home to finish, please make sure you allow enough time for your sculpture to air dry for about two days.  Then pack it carefully to return and be painted here on Tuesday and Wednesday.

 Social Studies:

**You may use the template provided in GC on April 4th to create your artist statement.  You may begin working on the artist statement at any time.  When you have completed the paragraph make sure you proofread for errors before sending it to me for further editing and printing.

Directions for Creating the Artist Statement:

1. Use the template to write the statement (April 4 in GC0

2.  Proofread, then submit to me for further editing.

3.  Pick up at printer.

4.  Cut paragraph from paper and glue to a piece of colored paper which is provided at front of classroom

5.  Clip the Artist Statement to the Arpillera and turn it in by Wednesday, April 24th for on time credit.

ELA:

Period 3: Read and annotate to the end of "The Adventure of the Dancing Men."

1.  Please make sure you've turned in your completed Dr. Tino article. You should have the definitions completed and the Venn Diagram as a minimum.  

2.  We're working on our Digital Poster.  Aim for Thursday for completion at the latest so that you have sufficient time for our Bird Sculpture.  These do best if they are prepped by Friday afternoon to air dry over the weekend for painting Monday and Tuesday.

3.  Our Project Celebration is Thursday, April 25th in the gym.
