 Science:

1 - Finish annotating the Human Microbiome article (if you didn't finish in class). Complete the Human Microbiome assignment (in GC) if you did not finish during class.

2 - Work on your Bacteria Lab Report. Follow all directions carefully. This is due Friday 3/3 by the end of the school day or 5:00 pm. You can work on this after the quiz on Friday if needed. 

3 - Study for your quiz on Friday. See GC for study materials and practice questions.

ELA:

All classes: If you would like to retest on any skills from the "Flowers for Algernon" test, you must turn in the requirements by Friday this week. The requirements are:

        1) Retest Request Google Form (in Google Classroom)

        2) Error Remediation (in Google Classroom)

I am working on getting the scores and rubric to you for the written responses so you can remediate those.

The retest will be Wednesday next week. You can see how you scored for each skill by viewing the assignment comment in PowerSchool.

Period 2: "Environmentalism vs Conservationism" in Google Classroom -- due Thursday

Social Studies:

1.  Make sure that you have completed warm ups 1-20.  Your document will be collected for a project grade next Monday, March 6th.  Late work will NOT be accepted for this classwork assignment!

2.  Make sure that you complete the Part 3 Submission Template by the end of the day and submit in GC.

3.  Make sure that you are ready to present tomorrow.  Presentations will take place in the regular classroom in front of your peers on Wednesday and Thursday.

Core Connections:

We are continuing our Project Work Days with either Social Studies or Science work.  You should finish your Part 3 of the Legacy of the Constitution or work on your Science Lab Report.

1 - Work on your Bacteria Lab Report. The lab report guide and class data are both posted in Google Classroom.  Answer all Conclusion questions using complete sentences, good grammar, and your own ideas/thoughts. Follow all directions discussed in class.  Stay tuned for a due date - I'll let you know soon. Do your best work! 

2 - Quiz on Friday, March 3. Topic: viruses, bacteria, & fungi.  Use the study material posted in Google Classroom. Review all slideshows starting Feb. 10 through this week.

In your results, make sure you have the pictures clearly labeled into four quadrants.  Make sure you're using your vocabulary to describe them.

In your conclusion section, there are three paragraphs. Please make sure you're following the instructions for these.

2 - All Classes: I am posting this early, in case you want to complete it over your 'break' from the school building. Finish the Flocabulary: Bacteria assignments. Complete the Video, Vocab Cards, Vocab Game, R&R, and Quiz. 

  • The Vocab Cards, Vocab Game, and R&R will count as separate classwork grades.
  • The Quiz will count as a quiz/test grade.  Consider it an open-note, open-resource quiz. Work by yourself, but use the Flocabulary information and class notes to help you.
  • These are due by the end of the day on Monday, February 20.

ELA

Finish your Midyear Learning Reflection (in Google Classroom). Remember to make your responses SPECIFIC.

Examples of strong, specific responses include:

 Tuesday tutoring has moved to Wednesday due to an appointment. Thursday is still scheduled for tutoring. Greetings parents and students. Just a reminder about outstanding assignments. The deadline is Tuesday morning, tomorrow. Also, Math 8 students will take their Exponents and Scientific Notation Test on Wednesday. Math I students started the Interpreting Quadratic Functions unit today. Tonight's homework is to finish Lesson 1.

Math 8 Students

First, there are a number of unfinished assignments due in Delta Math. Specifically, students should be finished with Scientific Notation #1 and #2 by tomorrow morning. We will be having a QUIZ tomorrow so it's important for students to know how to 1) Write numbers in Standard Form to Scientific Notation and Scientific Notation to Standard Form. 2) Add and subtract numbers in Scientific Notation. 3) Core 3 and 4 students should also know how to multiply and divide in Scientific Notation. 

Second, Math I students will be having a Test on Monday involving Connecting Algebra and Geometry. Specifically, it will cover 1) Distance on the coordinate plane. 2) Midpoint of line segments 3) Slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines and 4) Proving geometric theorems algebraically.
